Why Tech Support Hate Their Jobs? »
Posted by: makemesmile 11 months, 2 weeks agoTech support guys have to deal with lot of silly customers. Here are some true conversations recorded to prove that. "Customer: I have problems printing in redââ;¬Â¦ Helpdesk: Do you have a color printer? Customer: No."

I've got the perfect solution for these technical support people here with me, some sound chips we had made in the past for a greeting card company. The I.C. states "Frankly my dear I don't give a Damn" (it was from the original recording of Humphrey Bogards famous quote). The support staff could simply ask/say Madam/Sir may I put hold for a minute, playing this quote and walk over for another coffee/coke or water.

Yeah, except when you laughed they'd be trying to get you fired.
I remember coming in one morning and our email was down.
When I asked the Administrator promptly and indignantly looked at me, "did you get my email...I said our email server was down!"
I guess i R or WAS stupid? (lol)

When I first started working on a computer, I felt like a complete moron. Now I don't feel so bad. I was never as bad as the examples given.

You are right, in some cases, tech support types in the problem and a help screen comes up with possible solutions to recite back to the customer. But they are not always fullproof. I was having troubling configuring my Mac for cable internet and tech support first started by asking me to click on the start button (and yes I told him several times before that I owned a Mac, and start buttons don't exist on Macs) ;0

Several years ago, we bought our mother a computer for her 75th birthday so we could email pics of the kids to FL. She was having a terrible time and I was trying to help her over the phone to open an email. I said to her, tell me what your screen looks like right now. She said, "Do I need to turn on my computer?"
I have a priceless computer of her boyfriend sitting at her computer with a card game on, hand on the mouse and sound asleep!
