Humor – Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, who has been accused recently of padding her foreign policy resume, admitted today she may have exaggerated an encounter she said she had with al-Qaeda mastermind Osama bin Laden.
This title had me laughing even before I got out of my messages.
Me too.
Not to get too serious here, but there was a great 7-minute interview Hillary gave with Steve Inskeep of NPR's Morning Edition last week in which she said she played an "instrumental" role in negotiating peace in Northern Ireland. When Inskeep pressed her to ask if she'd been sitting at the negotiating table, all she could offer was that she "was part of the team" that was there.
Anyone who wants a laugh about Hillary's defenses of her overstatements can listen to the interview at the link below. Start at about 3:00 for comments on her supposed foreign policy experience--and don't miss the way she simply laughs at Obama, showing exactly the nastiness that annoys so many people:

then you have a situation where McCain doesn't even know the difference betwen shia and sunni, iran and al qaeda, which is shocking and scary, especially if you care about who is answering the phone at 3am.
and yet both of those situations aren't getting half the press and media attention that Obama is getting over things he didn't even say.
hmmmmmmm.
McCain is WAY too old to sustain the rigors of office. And his reputation as a war hero is just an IMAGE.
Forty years ago he graduated Annapolis, ranking FIFTH in his class --- FROM THE BOTTOM! He then bombed people halfway 'round the world in a war "we" LOST --- many felt (and still feel) RIGHTFULLY. Today Vietnam is healed and prospers; folks there accomplished that FOR THEMSELVES (and no "dominoes" tumbled down).
"WE" are now on a DOWNWARD trajectory! Looking to THIS guy for salvation is like electing GW Shrub with only an MBA!
He was UNLUCKY enough to be shot down, but he SURVIVED ---as a POW under UNpleasant conditions. But many Vietnamese FARED MUCH WORSE! And he was NOT the greatest pilot --- once crashing on a carrier, setting off a blaze that killed other Navy Personnel.
I'm glad he made it back around; many DIDN'T! But it's SILLY to count him a "hero"; he's no less a "PIG IN A POKE" than Hillary or Obama!
Now I don't care for McCains politics. And I'm dam*n sure not one of the fortunate sons. But McCain went thru something few have and survived. Now I don't know if you were there but it wasn't pleasant. I don't like to hear ill spoken of someones service to his country. When he not only did his duty he suffered greatly for it. Nam was hell in the field, I can't imagine what McCain suffered.
As far as losing the war. The Government lost it not the soldiers. We fought our as*es off and weren't allowed to win.
I lost to many friends for you to make light of that hellish war.
So thanks for your thoughts, here's a penny for 'em.
I don't want McCain as the president. But I won't disrespect his service. How many fighters have you landed on a carrier btw. Not as easy as you may think.
its sad the democratic party needs some serious integrity theese days we don't have it in barack obama and his racist followings of the so called REVEREND wright, we don't have it in hillary clinton in her lies, most recently being under sniper fire, and didn't have it in john kerry in his self appointments of (3) purple hearts or al gore who preaches global warming flying around in his lear jet or driving his SUV and we still don't know the truth about his statement on single handedly inventing the internet. looks like McCain is the man.
Lying from a Clinton seems to be nothing. And, the thing that's really interesting is, hardly anyone seems to care.
Well, lying from a POLITICIAN is what we're all used to, and to be fair to the Clintons, George Bush has done his fair share of lying, and people seem to take that in stride as well.
But, this IS supposed to be a humor thread, and Mrs. Clinton never actually claimed she wrestled Bin Laden... At least not publicly... or when she was sober...
I would like to see Charlson strap his ass to an F-102 and fly it, as George Bush did. That airplane was a holy terror.

I'd a liked to seen Bush humping it in the boonies with his gear. That would wear your as* out and you had to watch for the enemy and booby traps. Plus put up with the discomfort of insects, heat, humidity, rain, bullets flying at you, friendly fire, artillery, the smell of death, the sights of friends blown to bits,all whie trying to survive your tour of duty. Something Bush and his friends wouldn't know about. You know your usual walk in the park.
I have seen trailers of T4 the deep freeze day in which Hillary is sent back to 1996 with instructions to terminate Monica well in advance of the oval office events. This will prevent the rise of Bush2 , prepare the country for better priorities before 2000 better than investigating billjobs hence prevent 911. The machines however from their headquartes at unifiedcyberoilcorp have also sent back in time the architect to establish contact with Monica and prevent her elimination securing the eventual terrorism crisis that will safeguard the emergence of oilcorp after the inevitable rise of oil prices to $385 by 2012. The architect has also instructions to enhance the campaign of the opponent of Obama in Illinois Senate elections by creating a secret scandal preventing the polical rise to presidential candidate in 2008.
Hillary finds herself in deep conflict. She has to decide to freeze out the architect and save the world from the rise of oilcorp or allow him to dismantle young Obama.
...Past replicating future dilemmas...The trailer fades out with Obama girl smiling and declaring I ll be back, trust me...
Will Obama girl get to Hillary and inspire her conscience fast enough to ensure the freezeout of the architect before its too late ?

Wouldn't surprise me! Bill would have told us anything also, if we would bite, and most of you did. Can you imagine the amount of BSing going on around that house. Think it affects Chelsea? What gets me is that she will
"stretch" the truth about stuff that doesn't matter. How scary is that? Think we'd ever get the truth if it was something serious....like.....oh, I don't know, like have sex in the green room with her lesbo lover? Nothing against lesbos mind you. If we need anything in this country, we need the truth for a change. I like Obama but even he waffles on the truth....."I didn't attend that particular sermon" right! I think we're more likely to get truth with Cain. Afterall Cain would rather be tortured than give up info against our country. That sounds good to me....kind of like someone I could trust!
Nobody is going to torture the US president but his conscience and i am not so sure that this renders McCain better than Obama.
Last thing you should be looking at to figure out one's integrity is what his pastor says. It is his pastor because one has to have one in a country that is still centuries aways from electing a rational atheist or agnostic. If you are looking for hypocrisy look it up in the fabric of the average citizen that is Christian only in name and not in lifestyle and expects so from the leader as well...In the end the citizens are who dictate the kind of lies politicians have to tell them. If they were smarter, educated and substance searching, politicians would be brave enough to admit the truth. A country that can forget what the Obama message has been, what personal life conduct or the campaign style has been and what the position in issues that defined our time was and focus on skin color or a pastror's ramblings is a country that still deserves G.W.BUSH.
Hillary Clinton is a habitual liar on the campaign trail. Her only agenda is to attack Obama. She is using her husband and disgraced ex-President as an attack dog.
How about a 5AM emergency Security meeting in the Oval office? Obama can be there in 2 minutes.
For Hillary, to fix her hair, put on make up, lipstick, blush her aging cheeks, fix her eye lashes and finally some mascara it will be a minimum of 30 - 45 mins.
