Another good one rdy2rck - Blazing Saddles! Love just about anything Mel Brooks has done. Keep them coming.

What I completely fail to understand is that Heinz ignored the advertising potential of this segment..

As they also ignore "Beans, beans the musical fruit..", beloved by generations of children, ignored by the the boring old farts at Heinz!

You should be a advertiser gama.LOL

avatar

Yes gama - "Beans, beans the musical fruit - the more you eat them - the more you toot"! Good one.

Thanks Tessie and n2n. Blazing Saddles is another classic but I've got to be real careful with posting parts of it.

Did you notice it said "knock on barb wire." Mel didn't miss anything.ROFLMAO

ROFL! Yes, he is a hoot!

With a little work, they could have set that to music! HAHAHA

The Nutcracker Suite has terrific titular exploitation potential - but for another film.

Preposterous humor, rdy!

"The tears on my cheeks are from laughter"

Mel Brooks was the preposterous one. I'm just sick enough to post it.But like I said with him I gotta be real careful. A lot of his stuff probably wouldn't be released today.

Just wait until computers can smell:)

Hedley Lamarr: "My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives."

Taggart: "God darnit, Mr. Lamarr, you use your tongue prettier than a twenty dollar ******."

My dad took me to see this when I was about twelve. Such a controversial movie at the time. An absolute skewering of racism if viewed properly...and funny as hell...

avatar

LMAO. We could have a blazing saddles convention alone. By the way it's Headey.I like Boris the hangman hanging a horse. The racism part is why I've got to be careful BUT the point Mel was getting across was they always won(the good guys.)

He was trying to get the point of the ridiculousness of racism across. And look who saved the day. They even let the Irish have land at the end.

"Hedley Lamarr: Repeat after me: I...

Men: I...

Hedley Lamarr: ...your name...

Men: ...your name...

Hedley Lamarr: [to himself] Shmucks.

[continues aloud]

Hedley Lamarr: ... do pledge allegiance...

Men: ...do pledge allegiance...

Hedley Lamarr: ...to Hedley Lamarr...

Men: ...to Hedy Lamarr...

Hedley Lamarr: That's *Hedley*!

Men: That's Hedley."

They call him Hedy...as in Hedy Lemarr (the silent screen actress)... several other times in the movie.

Here is a great resource with tons of great lines from the movie...

Oh God VOR those are some of my favorites - when Hedley says about his mind being a raging torrent - the cowboy says "ditto". The one about the twenty dollar ***** is also a classic!

baddad:

Can we have some more beans Mr. Taggart? I'd say you'd had enough. LMAO hahahahaha...

I also enjoyed the scene where they fight and it ends up spilling over onto the other movie sets. Had me ROTFLMAO.

The scene where you hear a zipper and she says " it's twue, It's twue." had me busting a gut.

Good one rdy.

Also liked his movie Spaceballs.

Although all of Mel's movies are great. There are only two that are the best. This is one, the other Young Frankenstein, I mean Frankan-shtine.

Such soothing sounds..... nothing like a sound, that puts a pleasing satisfied smile on ones face. Take 'H" for example....there are many of us that love the macho feeling and sound of this one. Or "C" .... ah this one brings back fond memories of the cottage.... a pleasant feeling...the fresh morning air. Yes .... this is more than a sound machine....it is a machine of memories.
